Putting in the Work

Boise Gems Independent (BGI) has been busy every weekend building their 2026 show from the ground up. Rehearsals have focused on cleaning musical moments, locking in timing, and getting more comfortable performing together as a full ensemble. The progress from week to week has been noticeable, and the group’s confidence continues to grow as more of the production comes together.

New Sound System Upgrade

This season also brought a big step forward with the addition of a new sound system. The upgrade gives the ensemble more clarity and balance, especially as electronics become a bigger part of the show design. It’s an investment that helps both rehearsals and performances feel more professional, and it’s something the members are already excited to perform with.

First Performance This Saturday

All of that work leads to BGI’s first performance this Saturday at the District III Percussion Solo & Ensemble competition. It will be the ensemble’s first chance to get in front of an audience this season and see how the show translates outside of rehearsal. We’re proud of how far the group has come already and excited to take this next step together. Be sure to catch them at Eagle High School from 10:30-11:50am this Saturday, the 28th! Be sure to show up to support this amazing and dedicated group of students!
