Patrick Grimes is excited to be joining the Boise Gems Brass Staff as Caption Head. Mr. Grimes is currently the Assistant Band Director at West Fork High School in Kingwood, Texas, where he directs the Marching Band and Symphonic Band and assists the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. Mr. Grimes earned his Bachelor of Music Education with High Distinction from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he was Principal Trombonist of the Wind Ensemble and Head Undergraduate Staff for the Marching Hundred. In 2024, he performed with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to the corps’ silver medal finish at the DCI World Championships. Outside of teaching, Mr. Grimes enjoys spending time with family and hiking!
